The Northern Paiute Cycle of Life: Yesterday and Today
5PM-6PM
DOORS OPEN AT 4:30PM
Well known tribal historian, tradition bearer and elder, Wilson Wewa, will be speaking on the Northern Paiute presence in Central Oregon. His people have lived off the land from time immemorial and have learned to thrive on this land for centuries by their intense knowledge of the geography, plant identification, changing of the seasons and utilization of hunting, gathering and lifeway skills. This ancient knowledge which helped his people live on and with this land they call home is still in use today. He will also share his insights on how climate change is affecting thousands of years of his people’s lifeways.
