DESCRIPTION:MAXWELL FRIEDMAN GROUP\n\n\n\nTHE FUTURE OF NEO-JAZZ FUNK SOUL FUSION\n\n\n\n17-year-old Maxwell Friedman is living proof that some musicians are indeed “born with it.” At an incredibly young age\, in less than a decade since he started playing\, his ferocious and inspired keyboard playing\, and his tasteful and clever compositions are already becoming legendary while his skill\, knowledge\, taste\, phrasing\, artistry and professionalism are already on-par with many accomplished players on the national scene who\, without hesitation\, call him their peer. One of the youngest players to have ever been endorsed by Hammond Organ\, Maxwell has already been invited to share the stage with many musical heavy hitters such as Karl Denson\, George Porter Jr.\, The New Mastersounds\, Skerik\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong\, Michael Franti\, The Werks\, ALO\, TAUK\, Leftover Salmon\, Scott Pemberton\, and many more. In 2019\, Maxwell was invited to be an artist-at-large at numerous West Coast festivals including the legendary High Sierra Music Fest. This young wunderkind’s star is surely on the rise yet perhaps the most impressive work he has done thus far has been with his own band\, Maxwell Friedman Group. Assembling veteran players\, many years his senior\, including guitarist “Brother Gabe” Johnson\, the band delivers what Maxwell likes to call “Inspired Neo-Jazz Funk Soul Fusion”. This illustrious young man not only has shown a maturity beyond his years in leading his elder musicians\, but also continues to write works mature beyond his years while creating extremely colorful soundscapes that are beyond compare. In 2019\, the band released its debut album\, “Beyond Neblar – Live in Bend” and they toured the West Coast in support of its release\, including high profile support dates with Greyboy Allstars\, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and The New Mastersounds. DESCRIPTION:ECSTATIC DANCE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“What is Ecstatic Dance?”  \n\n\n\nA form of dance in which the dancers\, sometimes without the need to follow specific steps\, abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them\, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy.Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to connect with yourself through movement. There’s no need to follow specific steps or dance in any certain way. This evening is all about going with the groove in the way that feels best to YOU!  \n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us in our effort to move\, let go and be free.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat should I expect? \n\n\n\nA welcoming greeter. \n\n\n\nA comfortable\, non judgmental vibe.\n\n\n\nSpace to move freely. \n\n\n\nAn array of music styles such as – world\, dance\, bass\, tribal\, ethnic\, fluid\, meditative\, chanting and more. \n\n\n\nEmotional Release – people who choose to free up and participate or truly integrate in ecstatic dance have admittedly experienced many different emotional releases. Most would describe as a relief. Or a breath of fresh air.  \n\n\n\nWhat can ecstatic dance do? \n\n\n\nThe described effects of ecstatic dance include a feeling of connection with others\, indeed of “universal relatedness”\, and with the dancer’s own emotions; serving as a meditation\, providing a way of coping with stress and restoring serenity; and serving as a spiritual practice.\n\n\n\nWhat should I bring?\n\n\n\nYourself. Or possibly a friend. Depends on the friend. This sort of dance is best if your focus is truly on yourself.  So if you feel you can achieve this with someone. Please invite them.  😉 \n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?\n\n\n\nSomething comfortable. That you can really move freely in.  Colorful is always nice too. But this isn’t a fashion show.
