After over a decade touring under the name The Black Lillies\, Contreras is currently performing as a solo act and has been recently collaborating with cellist Dave Eggar\, fiddle player Billy Contreras\, and wife Molly Contreras.  \n\n\n\nOver the years\, Cruz has appeared on nationally broadcasted television including Late Night with Conan O’Brien\, CMT\, VH-1\, GAC\, Bluegrass Underground and PBS Television’s Sun Studio Sessions. With Totem\, Phoenix explores the digital domain with rich melodies\, psychedelic synths\, and exotic instrumentation. Totem culminates these two passions into a modern interpretation of ancient instruments. The sampling style is deep and visceral. Blending sequences of thick bass and instrumentation with live production. Live production includes: Didgeridoo\, vocals\, synth\, keyboard\, percussion\, and bass. Phoenix’s debut album with Totem is titled\, The Bonfire of Life\, and was written as a motion of solidarity with the native tribes of North America. Totem sees the immense potency that dance has for healing in our culture\, and also sees the reverent nature of ancient and native style music. His fluidity of moving from one instrument to the next has led to his ability to bring a variety of musical styles together to create dynamic and inspiring performances. iLko’s tendency to explore other instruments eventually brought him to his calling: the drums.\n\n\n\nHis songs range from down-tempo super-sexy soundscape styles to upbeat rhythmic dance songs that provide a positive vibe in any environment. He often will bring a live aspect to his performances through percussion\, bass guitar\, vocals and other live elements. Texan-raised and Oregon-based\, Wood has morphed from a young classically trained\, folk-tinged singer-songwriter to a wailing southern rock band leader to a college-circuit acoustic coffeehouse sweetheart to a well-respected nationally-touring poet and troubadour. He is a prolific singer/songwriter whose songs have now yielded an impressive 13 studio Too Slim and the Taildraggers albums\, 2 solo albums and several live CD’s all on his own Underworld Records imprint. Too Slim and the Taildraggers are Tim “Too Slim” Langford on guitar/vocals\, Zach Kasik on bass/vocals and Jeff “Shakey” Fowlkes on drums/vocals.\n\n\n\n “High Desert Heat” is the latest giant step in the evolution of their contemporary Blues/Rock sound that has been described as “Straight Whiskey Blues with a Southern Rock Beer Chaser”. The Shining Dimes appeal to a wide age range: older generations remembering the music they grew up with\, and young generations’ recent re-discovery of the magic of American country.\n\n\n\nBri\, the frontwoman on lead vocals and rhythm guitar brings her fun energy to the stage drawing from her second generation country upbringing. You never know where her quirky\, charming antics will take you during the show. Her husband Dylan holds down the low end on bass and singing backup with experience after attending Berkeley College of Music in Boston.\n\n\n\nKC on lead guitar brings energetic licks and tasty texture to the band. When KC isn’t giving someone an American traditional tattoo\, he’s probably writing a new song. Andrew is our man ticklin’ the ivories and resident multi-instrumentalist. When he’s not playing the keys\, you can find him rippin’ a horn solo and rounding out the 3 part harmony. Did we mention KC and Andrew are brothers? In true country form\, we’re lucky to have pedal steel aka the sad machine. The man behind the steel sits Jason. Don’t let his stoic cowboy demeanor fool you\, this man has a heart of gold. His playing will leave you in a puddle on the dance floor. Last but certainly not least is the heartbeat of the band\, Dayne\, on drums.
