Shimmering with cinematic qualities\, his music ultimately speaks to the body\, mind and soul. Phoenix has been playing eastern-style instrumentation for over a decade(tabla\, doumbek\, darbuki\, didgeridoo\, ric\, native flute etc). With Totem\, Phoenix explores the digital domain with rich melodies\, psychedelic synths\, and exotic instrumentation. Totem culminates these two passions into a modern interpretation of ancient instruments. The sampling style is deep and visceral. Blending sequences of thick bass and instrumentation with live production. Live production includes: Didgeridoo\, vocals\, synth\, keyboard\, percussion\, and bass. Phoenix’s debut album with Totem is titled\, The Bonfire of Life\, and was written as a motion of solidarity with the native tribes of North America. Totem sees the immense potency that dance has for healing in our culture\, and also sees the reverent nature of ancient and native style music. The ultimate thrill is fusing these two things into a continuous musical experience shared amongst listener and maker. Totem is humbled to bring thy dance medication. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\niLko\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\niLko is a musician of 20+ years and a huge fan of cross-genre blending. His original tracks and DJ mixes demonstrate this unique style by creatively fusing contrasting elements and musical genres.\n\n\n\n“I seek to elevate energy and positivity through what I choose to play and how I perform”.\n\n\n\nStarting his music career iLko played in rock and punk bands in the 90’s as a vocalist and rhythm guitarist. His fluidity of moving from one instrument to the next has led to his ability to bring a variety of musical styles together to create dynamic and inspiring performances. iLko’s tendency to explore other instruments eventually brought him to his calling: the drums.\n\n\n\nHis songs range from down-tempo super-sexy soundscape styles to upbeat rhythmic dance songs that provide a positive vibe in any environment. He often will bring a live aspect to his performances through percussion\, bass guitar\, vocals and other live elements. DESCRIPTION:Brogan Woodburn\n\n\n\nBrogan Woodburn graduated from Berklee College of Music after being inspired to go there by his favorite band.\n\n\n\nWhile at Berklee he studied guitar with David Tronzo and composition with Yakov Gubanov\, (one of Dmitri Shostakovich’s last students.) He graduated in 2013. After college David played guitar on the international tour of Bring It On: The Musical\, which included over 120 in the USA and Tokyo. He is a prolific singer/songwriter whose songs have now yielded an impressive 13 studio Too Slim and the Taildraggers albums\, 2 solo albums and several live CD’s all on his own Underworld Records imprint. Too Slim and the Taildraggers are Tim “Too Slim” Langford on guitar/vocals\, Zach Kasik on bass/vocals and Jeff “Shakey” Fowlkes on drums/vocals.\n\n\n\n “High Desert Heat” is the latest giant step in the evolution of their contemporary Blues/Rock sound that has been described as “Straight Whiskey Blues with a Southern Rock Beer Chaser”. High Desert Heat charted 11 times in the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart in 2018 and was nominated for Best Blues/Rock album at the 2019 Blues Music awards. High Desert Heat is also featured in heavy rotation on Sirius XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville. Their Previous release “Blood Moon nominated for “Blues Rock Album of the Year” at the 2016 Blues Blast Music Awards ” and was voted Blues Rock Album of the Year at the 2016 Jimi Awards.  Blood Moon reached  #6 on the Billboard Top Blues Album Chart in 2016. The 2014 release Anthology was vote #1 Blues Album of the Year by Blues Matters Writers Poll in 2015. There’s no need to follow specific steps or dance in any certain way. This evening is all about going with the groove in the way that feels best to YOU!  \n\n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us in our effort to move\, let go and be free.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat should I expect? \n\n\n\nA welcoming greeter. \n\n\n\nA comfortable\, non judgmental vibe.\n\n\n\nSpace to move freely. \n\n\n\nAn array of music styles such as – world\, dance\, bass\, tribal\, ethnic\, fluid\, meditative\, chanting and more. \n\n\n\nEmotional Release – people who choose to free up and participate or truly integrate in ecstatic dance have admittedly experienced many different emotional releases. Most would describe as a relief. Or a breath of fresh air.  \n\n\n\nWhat can ecstatic dance do? \n\n\n\nThe described effects of ecstatic dance include a feeling of connection with others\, indeed of “universal relatedness”\, and with the dancer’s own emotions; serving as a meditation\, providing a way of coping with stress and restoring serenity; and serving as a spiritual practice.\n\n\n\nWhat should I bring?\n\n\n\nYourself. Or possibly a friend. Depends on the friend. This sort of dance is best if your focus is truly on yourself.  So if you feel you can achieve this with someone. Please invite them.  😉 \n\n\n\nWhat should I wear?\n\n\n\nSomething comfortable. That you can really move freely in.  Colorful is always nice too. But this isn’t a fashion show. One of the youngest players to have ever been endorsed by Hammond Organ\, Maxwell has already been invited to share the stage with many musical heavy hitters such as Karl Denson\, George Porter Jr.\, The New Mastersounds\, Skerik\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong\, Michael Franti\, The Werks\, ALO\, TAUK\, Leftover Salmon\, Scott Pemberton\, and many more. In 2019\, Maxwell was invited to be an artist-at-large at numerous West Coast festivals including the legendary High Sierra Music Fest. This young wunderkind’s star is surely on the rise yet perhaps the most impressive work he has done thus far has been with his own band\, Maxwell Friedman Group. Assembling veteran players\, many years his senior\, including guitarist “Brother Gabe” Johnson\, the band delivers what Maxwell likes to call “Inspired Neo-Jazz Funk Soul Fusion”. This illustrious young man not only has shown a maturity beyond his years in leading his elder musicians\, but also continues to write works mature beyond his years while creating extremely colorful soundscapes that are beyond compare.
