DESCRIPTION:7PM ON OUR MAIN STAGE\n\n\n\nJOIN US FOR A BREATHTAKING LIVE PERFORMANCE & CD RELEASE! \n\n\n\nWest Virginia\, Grammy-nominated lutenist and composer Ronn McFarlane is one of the most well known lutenists around.  Although he’s a bit of a celebrity in the early music world\, he’s also made a name for himself in the folk music scene\, performing traditional Celtic music and folk and bluegrass-inspired original music (as heard on 2009’s Grammy-nominated album Indigo Road).  Viola da gambist Carolyn Surrick is known as the founder of Celtic/early music group Ensemble Galilei\, with whom she’s been ringleader since the early 1990s.  Extensive touring with the ensemble across the country\, and her many multidisciplinary collaborations with artists from many different mediums\, spreads her acclaim far and wide.  Together Ronn and Carolyn perform Renaissance and Baroque music\, Traditional Celtic and Swedish folk tunes\, and original compositions from both of them.  Their debut CD\, Fermi’s Paradox\, was released in 2020\, their second was released in 2021\, and their 3rd will be released in 2023.\n\n\n\nFEATURING\n\n\n\nRONN MCFARLANE & CAROLYN SURRICK\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLICK TO GET TICKETS HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n818 SW FOREST AVENUE REDMOND\, OREGON\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBACKLINE LOUNGE OPENS AT 4PM\n\n\n\nLOUNGE MUSIC 6PM – 7PM WITH \n\n\n\nBROGAN WOODBURN \n\n\n\nFlamenco-Jazz Fusion Guitarist\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrogan Woodburn graduated from Berklee College of Music after being inspired to go there by his favorite band. After college David played guitar on the international tour of Bring It On: The Musical\, which included over 120 in the USA and Tokyo. After living in Portland and The Oregon Coast\, his wife and him relocated to Prineville to enjoy more space and time in nature.

Mother Earth’s rivers\, waterfalls\, oceans and forests constantly illustrate that change is constant. Can we interpret\, discover and enjoy within our life’s cyclical themes of change? How does stillness\, silence and sound teach you to listen for answers often offered to your questions in nature? Renee will encompass this theme of transformation\, personal and integrative\, through a dialogue of expressive movements\, traditional and contemporary.\n\n\n\nRenee Gonzalez grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County\, California. She studied in Colima\, Mexico\, and then completed a bilingual cross-cultural language internship through California State University Fullerton. She taught elementary school in Santa Ana\, on the Pala reservation\, and in a dual language program in San Clemente. In 2007\, Renee and her family moved to Bend and she began teaching English language development and mainstream classes at Jewell. She also taught in the dual immersion program at Bear Creek Elementary for six years. Now Renee is inspired to develop a culturally responsive arts-integrated curriculum for LCA’s Raices program and Amiguitos summer club. Holbrook Literary Legacy Award. \n\n\n\nThe award is presented annually by Oregon Literary Arts “in recognition of significant contributions that have enriched Oregon’s literary community.” \n\n\n\nCome join us for a reading and recognition to his creative success.  \n\n\n\nMiranda\, a Pacific Northwest native\, has taught writing and literature at various universities\, including as Fulbright Lecturer at the University of Athens and as writer-in-residence at Reed College. He has published poems in The New Yorker\, The Atlantic Monthly\, Poetry and elsewhere. \n\n\n\nHis first book “Listeners at the Breathing Place” won the Princeton Contemporary Poetry competition\, and his collected poems and translations “The Must-Be-Admired Things\,” was published in 2022. \n\n\n\nHe has won nine awards from the Poetry Society of America and was invited by The Atlantic Monthly to serve as poet-in-residence at the Robert Frost House in Franconia\, New Hampshire.
