SUMMARY:FREE SOUND BATH
DESCRIPTION:Relax deeply in this sound meditation and yogic movement session.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT TO BRINGPlease bring what you need to maximize your comfort for sitting/laying on the floor: Yoga mat\, Pillow\, Blankets\, etc.\n\n\n\nSpace is limited. First come-first served.\n\n\n\nAll body types\, belief systems\, and experience levels welcome. Attendees will be lying down or sitting in a chair.\n\n\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT:The class begins with a brief explanation of the healing attributes of the gong and other sound therapy instruments. We open the space with a mantra and then use light movement and breathwork to prepare the body for the flow of energy to create a receptive experience for deep relaxation. Participants will then get comfortable by lying down (preferred) or in another comfortable position for 30-45 minutes to receive the multiple sounds\, vibrations\, and other resonant tones and frequencies. As we build the sound and intensity of the Gongs\, we allow the sounds to naturally decay\, creating build and release cycles which are deeply therapeutic.\n\n\n\nAs Kevin explains\, “This is called a bath as every cell in the body is ‘bathed’ in vibration\, allowing us to ‘release’\, very much like a physical massage\, stored physical and emotional tension. The participant only needs to relax into letting go and the gongs do the rest of the work. While the experience requires very little effort\, the results are profound.\n\n\n\nA Gong bath is a very personal and unique experience. Gongs speak to each of us differently\, on many different levels of our physical\, energetic\, emotional\, mental and spiritual bodies. It is a time of deep relaxation and expansion\, where transformation and healing can occur.”\n\n\n\nVisit https://soundshala.com/ for more information.\n\n\n\nQuestions?  Contact laurelh@deschuteslibrary.org   \n\n\n\nBROUGHT TO YOU BY: THE DESCHUTES PUBLIC LIBRARY

DESCRIPTION:GET TICKETS HERE!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMAIN HALL OPENS AT 7:30PM\n\n\n\n8PM – 10PM\n\n\n\nAnthony “Never Tony” Poponi is the founder of Focus on the 40 and Humore.us Productions\, is a standup comedian\, international professional speaker\, author and an expert in human happiness. Through the years he’s seen the funny (and not so funny) sides of understanding and seeking\, finding\, and crafting happiness in his own life. There have been trials\, there have been tribulations. There have been times where he has used a thesaurus to make sure tribulations is the correct word to use in the previous sentence. We digress. There’s plenty that’s funny about happiness\, pinky swear. \n\n\n\n“What’s So Funny About Happiness” covers Anthony’s comedic journey from a youth born in New Jersey to his current day home of Bend\, Oregon. As you’ll learn there’s plenty of humor (and happiness\, mostly humor) in Anthony’s acts of “adulting”\, the act of being an adult. Note\, adulting is not to be confused with “adultering” which can be a natural\, zesty enterprise.\n\n\n\nFind out more about Anthony at www.humore.us and https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonypoponi.\n\n\n\nFOOD AND DRINKS WELCOME INSIDE FROM THE FOOD TRUCK

SUMMARY:A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM | $25
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \n\n\n\nA Midsummer Night’s Dream\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 11th\, and 12th\, Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” comes to Central Oregon. We are hosted by The High Desert Music Hall in Redmond\, will have an alcoholic bar and concessions available for guests\, and plan to provide our patrons with an evening full of laughter\, theater\, and magic. While honoring the original plot and language of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”\, literary scholars in our audience might notice that our script has been trimmed to make it extremely accessible for our modern patrons. Fairies\, Lovers\, and Mischief all remain\, but in a form that will draw our audience in rather than pushing them away. Furthermore\, we intend to honor the tradition of Shakespeare performance that includes the audience in the story. Fairies run through aisles\, Lovers chase with swords\, and even Royalty deigns to acknowledge the attending crowd throughout our show. Students and teachers\, business owners and employees stand shoulder-to-shoulder to create the magic that is Meadow Sky Productions’ performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.\n\n\n\nBeverages and concessions will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission. DESCRIPTION:All voices welcome.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the anciently familiar practice of singing together! \n\n\n\n6:15PM-7:45PM\n\n\n\n– This is a non-performance\, non-audition group singing event– All voices (including yours) are welcome & wanted exactly as they are \n\n\n\n– No previous experience required. Singing is just slooooow talking!– All songs are taught in a call-and-echo\, aural tradition process– We’ll sing simple\, accessible\, harmonies\, rounds\, layer songs & more\n\n\n\nJoin local songleader Ian Carrick for the anciently familiar practice of singing together – for aliveness amidst despair\, for beauty amidst grief\, for joy within the cracks in our hearts.\n\n\n\nSongleader\, Ian Carrick\, (white\, able-bodied\, cis-man) strives to “create as welcoming space for everyone regardless of ethnicity\, abilities\, gender\, race\, immigration status\, class background\, politics\, or age and am always willing to admit I have room to grow”. After a decade of searching for accessible forms of community-based music and recovering his own voice\, Ian founded Open Hub Singing in 2016 after discovering a widespread North American cultural revival of aural tradition singing. \n\n\n\nLearn more at https://www.openhubsinging.com\n\n\n\nBrought to you by: Deschutes Public Library. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n818 SW Forest Avenue in Downtown Redmond\, OR

SUMMARY:A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM | $25
DESCRIPTION:A Midsummer Night’s Dream\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 4th\, 5th\, 11th\, and 12th\, Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” comes to Central Oregon. Food truck food is also welcome inside. \n\n\n\nHouse Opens at 6:30 pm show begins at 7 pm. SUMMARY:TYLER SPENCER | FREE
DESCRIPTION:A night of beautiful instrumentation and song writing along with creative looping and beat making. This will be a magical sonic experience not to be missed.\n\n\n\nTYLER SPENCER  ⎮   Newport\, Oregon\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTyler Spencer’s Didgeridoo Experience combines funky didgeridoo rhythms\, worldly percussive beats\, storytelling and audience participation. The didgeridoo has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1500 years\, and is known for its otherworldly sound. Tyler is a master didgeridoo player (and crafter) based out of Newport. He has been performing\, teaching and making didgeridoos for 20+ years\, and he is one of the most accomplished and talented didge players in the U.S. You’ll learn about Australian music\, how didgeridoos are made and more … all while moving and grooving to the pulsing rhythms of the didge. Tyler’s Didgeridoo Experience is interactive\, educational and entertaining for all ages!\n\n\n\nUsed in Aboriginal ceremonial performances to share stories and imitate wildlife\, the didgeridoo is made of wood. Once chopped down\, the logs are placed into giant termite mounds where the insects do the initial labor of hollowing out the log. The log is then chiseled out\, stripped down and sanded. Like brass instruments\, didgeridoos are played using circular breathing\, a method that allows a musician to breathe in through their nose while exhaling out the mouth\, keeping the sound going without interruption for a breath.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFREE SHOW!\n\n\n\n6PM-7PM\n\n\n\n818 SW FOREST AVE\n\n\n\nMORE INFO HERE

SUMMARY:LEAPIN' LOUIE COWBOY CIRCUS | FREE
DESCRIPTION:6PM-7:00PM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA cowboy circus about animals who fly!\n\n\n\nThis program is intended for and enjoyable for all ages. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.\n\n\n\nLeapin’ Louie uses circus\, cowboy tricks\, a six-foot unicycle\, and lots of comedy to explore all of the wild critters\, including us\, who fly.\n\n\n\nIn 400 million years five amazing groups of animals developed flight: insects\, pterosaurs\, birds\, bats\, and finally\, humans. Only 66 years after the Wright brothers invented the airplane\, we landed on the moon. We’re moving so fast! Can we leave enough room for our amazing wild ecosystems as we jet into the future?\n\n\n\nLeapin’ Louie is a master of physical comedy\, trick roping\, whip cracking\, and juggling. He has performed one-person Leapin’ Louie shows in 35 different countries around the world\, including many tours in Europe\, Japan\, and Australia.\n\n\n\nFood and drinks available for purchase on site!\n\n\n\nBrought to you by: Deschutes Public Library. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n818 SW Forest Avenue in Downtown Redmond\, OR
